Quick answer

Which couples resort should you choose?

Choose Mi Kasa for a relaxed mineral-springs stay, Glen Eden for traditional non-sexual naturism, Hotel O2 for a social adults-only getaway, and Sea Mountain or Exotic Dreams only when a lifestyle atmosphere is specifically what both partners want.

Important: Search results and booking directories still show Tuscany Manor and Desert Sun. Tuscany Manor, Desert Sun and the Terra Cotta are closed. The five options below are the current alternatives we could verify.

Distances are straight-line from Palm Canyon Drive at Tahquitz Canyon Way, measured on OpenStreetMap, except Glen Eden, which is given by road. Ratings and published price ranges checked October 2026. “Lifestyle” and “naturist” are not interchangeable; confirm current admission and conduct rules directly with the property.

First trip as a couple

The easiest first step

For couples who have never been to a clothing-optional resort, Mi Kasa Hot Springs is the lowest-pressure start in this area: an adults-only hot-springs stay without a lifestyle scene, a short drive from Palm Springs.

If you want a traditional naturist club, Glen Eden is the clearer match. First-time visitors take a required tour. Both partners should agree in advance whether a lifestyle resort is welcome before booking Sea Mountain or Exotic Dreams. The first-timer guide and the day-pass guide cover how to try a resort for a day first.

What changed since the Terra Cotta era

  • 2015: the original Terra Cotta Inn on Racquet Club Road closed. A second resort using the Terra Cotta name ran in Warm Sands from 2017 until it closed abruptly in August 2019. Terra Cotta history
  • 2019–2024: Tuscany Manor turned clothing-optional on September 3, 2019, to take in Terra Cotta guests. It was still operating in January 2024 and has since closed. Tuscany Manor status
  • January 2025: Desert Sun closed as a nudist resort. It reopened in summer 2025 as Casa Palma, which is not clothing-optional. Desert Sun status

That leaves no traditional couples’ naturist resort inside Palm Springs. Most remaining options are in Desert Hot Springs, about 11 miles north. See the full closures timeline.

Choose the culture first

Traditional naturism or a lifestyle resort?

The biggest booking mistake is treating every clothing-optional property as the same experience.

Non-sexual social nudity

Traditional naturism

Choose this when the priority is body-positive recreation, pools, sun and community without a sexualized atmosphere. Glen Eden is the clearest club-style match; Mi Kasa is the closer desert alternative.

Adult social scene

Lifestyle resorts

Sea Mountain and Exotic Dreams explicitly target lifestyle guests. Read the event calendar, admission rules and recent reviews together before committing.

Middle ground

Social adults-only stays

Hotel O2 combines clothing-optional mineral pools with events and day access. Its atmosphere can vary by date, so check the calendar rather than relying on one label.

First visit

Agree on expectations

Before booking, both partners should agree on nudity, events, photography rules and whether a lifestyle environment is welcome. Our first-timer guide covers etiquette and packing.

Location guide

Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs or Temescal Valley?

Palm Springs: Exotic Dreams is the only current mixed-couple option in the city in this comparison, but it is a lifestyle property—not a replacement for the former couples-oriented naturist hotels.

Desert Hot Springs: Mi Kasa, Hotel O2 and Sea Mountain put mineral water at the center of the stay. They are separate destinations from Palm Springs nightlife, so plan transportation rather than assuming you can walk downtown.

Temescal Valley: Glen Eden is the strongest traditional naturist-club option, but it is roughly 75 miles west of Palm Springs and suits a dedicated club visit more than a Palm Springs weekend.

Avoid outdated listings

Couples resorts that are no longer open

The Terra Cotta, Tuscany Manor and Desert Sun shaped older Palm Springs recommendations, but none is still operating as the clothing-optional couples resort travelers remember.
