The Hacienda at Warm Sands
Nine suites and rooms for gay men around two pools, with breakfast and a catered lunch. The suites are large, the bigger ones with full kitchens, and the resort charges a service fee instead of taking tips.

The Hacienda suits gay men, especially couples, who want space, a quiet pool and a high level of service, and are willing to pay for it. It is not for anyone looking for a social or party scene. For that, INNdulge or Casa Oliver a few streets away are the better fit.
What sets it apart
Size and service. Visit Palm Springs lists “just nine exclusive accommodations,” and the resort describes its suites as “some of the largest in Palm Springs.” The deluxe and grand deluxe suites have a separate bedroom, a living and dining room, and a kitchen styled as a bar; the junior suites are open plan.
The resort also claims a one-to-one staff-to-guest ratio, which is its own claim rather than something we can measure. Instead of tips, a service charge is added to each bill and shared among staff. The resort asks guests who want to give more to donate to DAP Health. The policy page we read doesn’t state the percentage, so ask when booking.
Suites
- Grand Deluxe Suite — about 900 sq ft on the east pool, with a gas fireplace and a full kitchen.
- Deluxe Suite — about 600 sq ft, with a separate bedroom and a full kitchen.
- Deluxe Junior Suite — about 600 sq ft, open plan, with a barrier-free design: handrails, a roll-under sink and a comfort-height toilet.
- Junior Suite — about 460 sq ft, open plan, with a fridge, microwave and toaster.
- Patio Room — about 300 sq ft, the smallest option.
A pool and spa lift chair is available. Rates are double occupancy; extra guests, including daytime visitors, pay a nightly charge, and no more than two extra guests are allowed. Children are not allowed.
Pools and the clothing rules
There are two swimming pools and a jetted spa. Both pools are heated in winter. In summer, one is chilled and the other left at natural temperature.
The pools, spa and surrounding patios are swimsuit-optional. Nudity is not allowed in the office, breezeway and trellis areas, a restriction the resort attributes to its alcohol license.
Booking terms
Under the flexible rate, the stay is charged to your card 14 days before arrival.
- Standard stays: cancel or change 14 or more days ahead without obligation.
- Holidays, special events and stays of 28 nights or more: the cutoff is 30 days.
- Free-night promotional rate: paid in full at booking and non-refundable.
Check-in is 4 pm and check-out 11 am. The office is open until 7 pm, so arrange late arrivals in advance. Nightly rates aren’t published on the pages we read; ask the resort for a quote.

What recent guests say
Tripadvisor showed 691 reviews averaging 5.0 in October 2026. The ten most recent cover stays from January to September 2026: nine five-star and one four-star. Repeated praise:
- the staff and service;
- cleanliness;
- the two pools;
- the breakfast and lunch.
Management’s own reply describes those meals as a daily expanded continental breakfast and a catered lunch. The only repeated criticism was that breakfast is the same every day.
How it compares
Choose El Mirasol Villas instead for another quiet Warm Sands option. Choose Descanso if you want the same calm, with breakfast and lunch included, outside Warm Sands. Choose INNdulge, next door on Grenfall Road, for a social pool and a nightly social hour. For neighborhood trade-offs, see Warm Sands vs downtown.
